It was specially embellished in the anime.
In general, “Attack on Titan” is the case when the anime most often repeats the manga in detail, down to the frames themselves. But there are still some discrepancies with the original source. We tell you about the main differences in one of the most exciting arcs of the first season.
What moment are we talking about?
We think everyone remembers the legendary battle between Eren and Annie in the bodies of titans. And it turns out that it became spectacular mainly because of the improvements.
Let’s start a little far. In episode 23, Isayama asked the adaptation creators to add Annie’s laugh when she turned into a titan. He felt that in the manga, she was too cold-blooded at such an important moment, so it was necessary to show the viewer a sharp change in the character’s personality.

In the next episode, Eren also turned into a titan. In the anime, he ended up under the rubble and his transformation was preceded by a monologue. In the manga, there were no blockades or internal struggles. All he needed to transform was a motivational speech from Mikasa.

But when they both transformed, the audience was in for a very epic battle. But the funny thing is: it wasn’t in the manga. Eren simply held Annie down while the other scouts cut her neck open.

And in the 22nd episode preceding these events, they added a whopping 8 minutes to immerse the viewer deeper into the drama. This time in the series was dedicated to collecting the bodies of fallen comrades, revealing the character of Erwin Smith and focusing on Levi and the deceased Petra, as the captain will soon meet her father.
