The continuation of “House of the Dragon”, despite the controversial first episodes, once again attracted millions of “Game of Thrones” fans from all over Russia to the screens. And immediately after the premiere of the second episode, an unexpected announcement came: the viewer is waiting for the film “Gorynych”.
Starley of the Russian Navy Lech accidentally goes into the distant past – the main character’s bathyscaphe turns up in a fairy-tale world, where a sailor meets a small dragon. The unknown animal is nicknamed Gorynych by Lekha, and now they will have to take care of each other in this not the friendliest place.
The next adaptation of the legendary Slavic fairy tales, which Russian viewers have already called “our House of the Dragon”, is already being fully filmed and an impressive cast has been selected for the project.
The lead role will be played by Alexander Petrov, and he will be joined by Victoria Agalakova, Sergei Makovetsky, Alexander Robak and a host of Russian film and TV series stars.
In the director’s chair is Dmitry Khonin, and the team of producers is responsible for other recent fairytale hits: ‘The Little Humpbacked Horse’ and ‘At the Command of the Pike’.
“Every old fairy tale was once new – that’s what we decided and came up with a completely new story, which is not based on well-known plots, but is told in the best traditions of Russian fairy tales,” said Sergei Selyanov, one of the producers of the project, to the Film Distributor’s Bulletin”
The premiere of ‘Gorynych’ is scheduled for January 1, 2026, but fans of dragon movies and TV shows who don’t want to wait that long can still find out what will be in the third episode of the second season of the series. Spin-off of ‘Game of Thrones’.
