The showrunners are in over their heads and it’s hard to believe that things will get better.
The most publicized and terrifying moment of George RR Martin’s book was ultimately shown in the second season premiere, but besides “Blood and Cheese,” audiences had something to feast their eyes on. The director decided not to pull the cat by the tail, “spread” the main events over several episodes and rushed straight into the quarry.
The Starks have finally become an important part of the House of the Dragon story. Creegan, Lord of Winterfell and Guardian of the North, showed Jace the Wall and talked to him about upcoming events.

Stark stands atop the wall and tells Jace the story of how ancient King Jaehers and Queen Allisan once visited them with their dragons Vermithor and Silverwing, and both great beasts themselves refused to cross the wall – a clear hint at the threat of the White Walkers. ! And this is 200 years before the events of the main series.
Almost immediately, we are shown that Criston Cole’s relationship with Queen Alicent has gone to a new level – their private meetings have become noticeably more frequent, despite the fact that members of the Royal Guard must remain celibate. At the same time, in the book Alicent and Christon were only good friends, but not lovers.

Leaving ‘Blood and Cheese’ out of the picture, the most shocking episode of the first series could easily be called the moment when Rhaenyra finds Arrax’s wing around Shipbreaker Bay. The dragon’s remains prove that Luke Targaryen died, and so the queen stops mourning and takes revenge.
Against the backdrop of such an impressive start, we can recall how the second season of Game of Thrones began. Of course, there were also plenty of reasons for surprise, but they weren’t until the end, when Jon Snow noticed Craster’s child being dragged away by a white walker, and otherwise that episode was noticeably more boring than the new one.

At the same time, there are those who did not appreciate the finale of the first episode of the second season of “House of the Dragon”. In the book version, the events were much more brutal.
