
‘Gorko’ and ‘Mother-in-law’ were not next to each other.
In Russia, Korean dramas, but also Japanese and Chinese action films, are particularly popular. However, the Celestial Empire, as it turned out, knows how to surprise not only with action, but also with rollicking comedies, from watching which I laughed to tears.
On the advice of my Chinese friends, I appreciated five paintings at once, and each one sunk into my soul, and each for completely different reasons.
“Detective from Chinatown” in just a few years has grown into a full-fledged franchise with three films and one series, and parts 2 and 3 on KinoPoisk received ratings of 6+, which is already worthy of comedies.





First the main characters search for gold and save their reputation, then they investigate a murder and finally they cause a stir in Bangkok and Tokyo. The detective stories here are flavored with a specific Asian humor, which in some places is not very funny in the Russian translation, so if possible watch in the original and with subtitles.
“City of Rock” surprises not only with its humor, but also with its musical component. Of course, a movie with a name like that should have a cool soundtrack, but I wanted to “Shazam” most of the songs I heard and save them to a playlist.
“Friends in Misfortune” is reminiscent of “Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door,” but there’s a lot less drama and a lot more jokes under the belt. There is no place to cry here, after all the main characters are not terminally ill, just everyday losers, but the concept is the same. Only they don’t go to the sea at all.
“Goodbye Mister Loser” is a classic story about a time traveler who decides to become famous using his knowledge of the future. Remember how in Back to the Future one of the characters tried to get rich using an almanac with the results of football matches? Here’s something similar, but stretched out over an entire movie.
