Some are a mistake, some are a clever trick.

For 58 years, Soviet and Russian audiences consistently enjoyed one of the best comedies of Leonid Gaidai, without paying any attention to the shortcomings of the shooting. People’s love cancels out any film crew mistakes and technical flaws, but they are nevertheless present in the film.

The video discussed 16 movie blunders that fans don’t care about:

Besides the blunders inherent in any film, such as objects changing position, sudden changes in patterns on clothing, and actors forgetting what pose they were in in the previous frame, eagle-eyed critics found something more interesting. For example, the cucumber that Coward throws at Shurik. Not only does it change color from lime green to green, but the wire tied to the end of the vegetable is clearly visible in the frame.

To this, the defenders of the comedy noted that it would have been impossible to do without the blunder, because the director used reverse photography and the cucumber actually flew out of the actor’s mouth. Fans also defended the scene where Nina, Shurik and the donkey get on the bus. The screen clearly shows that eight pairs of legs disappear under the wheels, but the next moment the hero is sitting on a donkey and wandering along the road. “This is not a blunder, but a joke from Gaidai!” – the spectators were outraged.

The Russians agreed that ‘Prisoner of the Caucasus’ is an all-time masterpiece, and any flaws only add more humor to the plot.
