Coronation Street fans took to Twitter to react to actor Daniel Brocklebank after he claimed he went to bed early to save money amid the high cost of living.
In a recent post, the 42-year-old soap opera star, who plays Billy Mayhem on the series, explained the drastic measures he has taken to reduce the cost of electricity.
But fans immediately sought out the star, who reportedly earned a six-figure sum for her role in the ITV series and is worth a staggering £5m according to L’Espresso.

The actress, who has been in the drama since 2014, wrote on her social media platform: “Did anyone notice that they went to bed early so they wouldn’t have to turn on the light? I feel just like when I was 8 and I can still hear the sound of big kids playing outside”.
Coronation Street players receive an annual salary with bonuses for the episodes they appear in. It is said that famous soap opera faces can earn around £200,000 a year, while young stars can earn around £100,000 a year.
And fans said, ‘150,000 pounds a year, who are you kidding?’ He hastened to shout at the player with his comment.

Posted: The actress wrote on her social media platform: “Did anyone else notice that they went to bed early so they wouldn’t have to turn on the light? I feel just like when I was 8 and I can still hear the sound of big kids playing outside”.

Daniel has appeared in many TV shows throughout his career and also starred as Sam Goose in the Oscar-winning Shakespeare In Love.
And while his salary is unknown, the top earner from the soap opera is veteran Jack P Shepherd, who is thought to be making around £200,000 a year from his role as David Platt for 20 years.
Simon Gregson, who has played Steve McDonald since 1989, is estimated to bring home around £160,000 a year.

This comes after former Corrie star Amanda Barrie thought she had kept her sexual orientation a secret when she started working on the soap and would be fired if she came out like an openly gay actor Daniel.
The now 86-year-old actor waited until 2003 to declare himself bisexual at the age of 67 for fears it would hurt his career prospects.
Amanda joined the soap opera ITV in 1981 and played the world-famous role of Alma Sedgewick, which she played until 2001.
She later married theater director and actor Robin Hunter, whom she married in 1967. The couple separated in the mid-1980s and were still legally married when Robin died of emphysema in 2004.

Despite being married to a man, rumors continued to circulate that Amanda was bisexual, and Amanda told the Conversation Street podcast: “I used to come into the office every week.
“You’re leaving,” they would say. ‘I?’ “Yeah, you have this thing on you.”
“I spent a fortune on lawyers because believe me, if it were, then they wouldn’t have kept me on Coronation Street, and I’m going to stick with it.
not because of them [the producers] but it will be anonymous because of people who might say “I don’t work with him”.

Amanda also noted that things are very different now because of the show’s LGBT cast including Daniel, Anthony Cotton and Rob Mallard.
He shouted, “Now I’m falling, ‘Damn, they’re opening a gay club on Coronation Street now?” I said.
‘What’s going on? How many do you have? They all come out. Why didn’t they come out while I was there? I had as many hooks as could be. I led the way.
