Raven’s Home stars Anneliese van der Pol and Johnno Wilson reveal they’re engaged … and thank Disney for the “introduction” to the set

Former Disney Channel star Anneliese van der Pol looked over the moon on Wednesday when she and boyfriend Johnno Wilson announced their engagement.

The 39-year-old actress and her actor-comedian boyfriend shared their happy news on Instagram with photos of Johnno getting down on one knee to shock Anneliese with her engagement ring.

The lovebirds also expressed their gratitude to a company that made it all possible: Disney, which airs its series Raven’s Home, a sequel to the previous Disney Channel show That’s So Raven.

Their engagement came shortly after Anneliese’s former co-star Raven-Symoné announced that her brother had died after a two-year battle with colon cancer.

“Thank you @Disney for introducing me to my ex-husband from TV and my real-life fiance[e]Wilson wrote in his post, which Anneliese shared on her account.

He also added the date of their engagement, “12.23.23“, revealing that they waited a few days before sharing their good news.

In her photos, Johnno used her Christmas decorations as the perfect backdrop for his marriage proposal.

He wore a smart black jacket, beige trousers and dark shoes and a white shirt without a tie.

Anneliese is more casually styled in a cozy cream sweater with baggy brown pants and beige suede shoes.

Despite the relaxed atmosphere, she wore her strawberry blonde hair styled in elegant waves that fell over her shoulders.

Johnno’s ring box appeared to contain a light that illuminated his fiancé’s face when he opened it.

Then she hugged him and they both looked excited.

In one photo, they leaned in for a hug, and in another, Johnno pointed at the camera as if to show someone had documented the whole thing.

Finally, there was a photo of Anneliese’s hand as she drank what looked like champagne in celebration.

Anneliese is best known for her appearances in both the original That’s So Raven and the sequel Raven’s Home.

Johnno also posted a close-up of her hand with the large ring while holding a glass of champagne

The two met after they were cast in the sequel “That’s So Raven – Raven’s Home”. Johnno played Anneliese’s character Chelsea’s ex-husband, who was the title character’s best friend

Anneliese previously worked with star Raven-Symoné on the Disney Channel original series, although she suggested they should be asked to leave both shows before completing their courses.

She played Chelsea Daniels, the title character’s goofy best friend, but left both the original series and the ongoing sequel before they ended.

The actress, who has also worked on stage and as a singer, has not commented on why she left both series, but in a TikTok video from earlier this year, she hinted that she was asked to leave both series .

Wilson had a much smaller connection to the franchise. Ironically, he only appeared in Raven’s Home to play his future fiancé’s ex-husband, Garrett Grayson.

The series was revived in 2017 and aired its sixth season – without Anneliese and Johnno – in April this year.
