Hannah Waddingham calls Tom Cruise “one of the nicest and most encouraging, positive and inspiring” people she knows … after working with him on Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning

Hannah Waddingham praised Tom Cruise after working with him on the upcoming film Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning.

The Emmy-winning actress, 49, appeared this week in the ITV series James Martin’s Saturday Morning, where her 61-year-old co-star grew up.

The London native said she worked with the actor for “five intense days” on the Christopher McQuarrie-directed action film, set on the supercarrier USS George HW Bush, without any of the “bells and whistles” and “all the lift” during production.

“I have to say, I have a real problem with anybody attacking him right now,” said Waddingham, who plays Rebecca Welton in “Ted Lasso.” “I don’t have time for anyone to say anything about him.”

She said of the Hollywood star: “He is without a doubt one of the most beautiful and encouraging, positive and inspiring people I have ever met. ‘Isn’t he beautiful?’

In recent years, the star actor’s generosity towards his colleagues has piqued the interest and taste buds of fans. In the midst of the news, he sends around 300 show business colleagues a white chocolate coconut cake every year for the holidays.

The cakes, which retail for about $126, come from family-run Doan’s Bakery in Woodland Hills, California, and are made with white chocolate, cream cheese frosting and coconut flakes.

Celebrities who have confirmed receiving the cake include Tom Hanks, Angela Bassett, Kirsten Dunst, Rosie O’Donnell and Jon Hamm; and Hayley Atwell and Pom Klementieff from Mission: Impossible.

Waddingham, who was promoting her Apple TV+ music special “Home for Christmas,” then talked about her experience filming “Mission: Impossible 8” on the Navy battleship.

Appearing on SiriusXM last week, Waddingham said her upbringing on the water helped her get used to filming.

Waddingham said she told Cruise and McQuarrie: “I know this world so well. I have mastered it. No problem. “I’m used to brushing my teeth in a little hut.”

In the interview, Waddingham said that she will be filming another scene for the action film with Cruise next year.

Waddingham previously discussed her strong chemistry with Cruise in an interview on Live with Kelly and Mark on March 17.
