Britney Spears’ mother, Lynne LancesHe denies ever “getting rid of” his daughter’s belongings, as Britney’s memoir states, the woman in me. The 68-year-old wrote a public note on Instagram from her to her daughter, 41, on Nov. 9 to prove that she still had Britney’s stuff.

“I’m not sure who told you I got rid of your dolls and journals, but I would never do that!” Lynne wrote in her caption. “It would be cruel because I know how much they mean to you. They are also special to me because of the years we spent collecting them. Of course I still have your stuff and will be happy to send it to you if you want. Please let me know how much I love you!

In her carousel post, Lynne included photos of a black briefcase and numerous Madame Alexander porcelain dolls. But according to Britney, the “Gimme More” singer returned to her home in Louisiana in 2020 and found her belongings missing.

“When I saw the empty shelves, I felt an overwhelming sadness,” Britney wrote in her book. “I thought about the pages I wrote through tears. I never wanted to publish them or anything, but they were important to me. …And my family threw them in the trash, just like they threw me away.”

After telling herself she could “buy a new notebook” and “start over,” she realized it was “time to find God again,” noting that “in that moment, [she] made peace with [her] family” because “he would never want to see them again”.

Britney said the missing items were “Madame Alexander dolls.” [she’d] collected when I was a child”, “three years of [her] writing” and “a folder full of poems that had real meaning” to her.

Britney and her mother have had a complicated relationship for years. After the “Toxic” singer’s conservatorship ended in 2021, she publicly criticized her entire family for trapping her in the legal settlement governed by her father. Jamie Spears. However, it seemed that Britney and Lynne had found a way to move forward, and the “Stronger” artist revealed last May that she and her mother had buried the hatchet.

“My sweet mother showed up at my door yesterday after 3 years… it’s been a long time… there are always things to resolve in the family… but time heals all wounds!!!” Britney captioned an Instagram post. “After being able to communicate what I’ve been repressing for so long, I feel so lucky to have been able to try to do things the RIGHT way!!! I love you very much !!! Psss… How nice to be able to have a coffee together after 14 years!!! let’s go shopping later [sic]!!!
