Big British Bake Off fans were left in tears after Tuesday’s episode when fan favorite Saku was axed from the show.
The 50-year-old intelligence analyst from Hertfordshire was the last to bid farewell to the iconic tent after a tough dessert week in which all the bakers were the first to fail the technical challenge of a series.
The bakers were given the challenge of creating signature cream caramels before tackling the technique of making six orange ginger syrup puddings.
A roast dinner ensued, during which Paul took one look at the sofa, stormed off and declared: “This is disgusting.”
Alison Hammond tried to lighten the mood by saying: “At least you’re all pretty much on the same level…”

But it was Saku who was eliminated after her beehive chocolate bomb failed to impress judges Paul and Prue, with Dan taking the star baker spot.
She waved at the tent and said: “I’m so proud of myself. I don’t miss baking, but I will miss them [the other bakers].
“It’s really sad to leave them behind. It’s a privilege to be part of this wonderful family.”
“We will miss you!” co-host Alison declared as she was hugged
Saku added in her suicide note: “What a rollercoaster ride it was!
“From submitting my Bake Off application just hours before the deadline to the day I left the big white tent in week 7, I had the most amazing (and also terrifying) experiment of my life.”

Fans were devastated after Saku’s departure, with one saying they were in “mourning”.
One said: “The sadness of the season, gone but never forgotten, our precious queen, forever in our hearts Saku we love you.”
Another added: “When Saku goes home I will cry real tears. She is an ICON.’
A third said: “I knew this day was coming but I wasn’t ready to see Saku go.”
A fourth added: “I won’t be available next month. I’ll be mourning our 2023 Bake Off queen.”
