Films about Baba Yaga and Koshchei the Deathless collected fabulous amounts.
In the Russian box office, films based on Russian folk tales are increasingly leading. You might think that the merit of good fees are well-known performers in the leading roles. But they have nothing to do with it.
Film critic Oksana Agapova told the PopCornNews portal why such stories are actually in demand among viewers.
“A fairy tale is about how to escape from your problems, immerse yourself in some kind of bright, magical, fantastic world. How to get a little distracted, ”explained the expert.
According to the film critic, audiences also love fairy tales for their visual richness. Costumes, special effects, colorful characters. But there is something else that draws moviegoers to such sessions.
“A fairy tale makes you believe for a while that someone magical, magical will come, not without flaws, as always happens in fairy tales, but someone who can overcome them and help you and me, including how viewers,” explains Oksana Agapova .
The expert adds that Russian folklore is much more interesting than the myths of ancient Greece. Nevertheless, our compatriots from childhood know stories about Baba Yaga and Koshchei the Immortal, which they absorb with their mother’s milk.
