Jade’s story from the “Clone” series, which came out 20 years ago, made me cry. The audience felt sorry for the unfortunate girl, whose mother died early, and then she had to marry the unloved. The plot so appealed to the audience that many simply missed the main overview of the project.
In Morocco, an oriental beauty will live her whole life. Here she will meet her love – Lucas – and give birth to a daughter, Khadija. The Arab country will force the heroine to live by her own rules: wear a headscarf and honor her husband. At the same time, Zhadi will not learn the local language for decades.
Her native language is Portuguese. The series will only have a few episodes where Giovanna Antonelli’s character will try to speak Arabic, and even then barely. Surely these moments caused laughter among the Arabs.
However, it is worth remembering that they filmed “Clone” in Brazil and with Brazilian actors, EG writes. Learning Arabic for everyone would be an incredible task.
