The Gotham sets the date for the 33rd annual Gotham Awards

The 33rd annual Gotham Awards will be held on Monday, Nov. 27, the Gotham Film & Media Institute announced Thursday.

Recognized as one of the premier awards for independent film and television, the Gotham Awards provide early recognition to groundbreaking indie films and series during awards season, with statuettes presented in New York City.

At last year’s edition, held at Cipriani Wall Street, Everything, everywhere, all at once kicked off the major awards season by winning Best Picture, with star Ke Huy Quan also winning the Outstanding Supporting Performance Award on his way to a Supporting Actor Oscar. Charlotte Wells accepted the Bingham Ray Breakthrough Director Award for her critically acclaimed feature debut After sunand W. Kamau Bell received the Breakthrough Nonfiction Series Award for his award-winning four-part Showtime series. We need to talk about Cosby.

The Gotham Film & Media Institute is an organization dedicated to celebrating and promoting independent film and media creators, providing resources for career development, access to industry influencers and pathways to wider recognition. The organization is led by award-winning producer Jeffrey Sharp as Executive Director.
