The death of Yevgeny Basilashvili was announced by his student, a graduate of VGIIK Tatyana Glushchenko. The 82-year-old artist died on Wednesday, April 26 in Volgograd. The reason is not mentioned.
Basilashvili was an assistant professor at the Volgograd Institute of Arts and Culture (VGIIK), where he worked from the mid-90s. Before that he worked in the Russian Youth Theater in Tbilisi. In addition, he had the title of Honored Artist of the Georgian SSR.
Yevgeny Basilashvili is known not only for theatrical, but also for film works. As an actor, he played one of the roles in the psychological drama Let’s Talk, filmed by the Georgia film studio.
“Great craftsman. I am grateful to you, very grateful for everything you have done for me. And without you, my world has become much darker and sadder, ”the ex-student wrote on her page on VKontakte.
