Sister Wives star Gwendlyn Brown says her father was almost arrested in Utah before the family was uprooted and moved to Las Vegas.
The 21-year-old daughter of Kody Brown and Christine Brown – who made headlines earlier this month for being engaged to David Woolley – spoke about the incident in the latest reaction video on her YouTube channel.
Gwendlyn reacts to the final episode of season 17 that aired on TLC in January – which may be the series finale since the show has not yet been officially renewed or canceled – revealing that the Utah Police Department was ready to release Kody’s arrest too late before he moved the big family to Las Vegas in 2011.
“When I was a kid, the police actually came to our door and said, ‘You have to go,'” Gwendlyn revealed in the video.
She added that law enforcement in Utah was overly critical of his polygamous lifestyle and once said, “We’re going to put your father in jail.”

Gwendlyn added, “Utah seems really strange to me,” though she admitted moving from Utah to Las Vegas was even stranger.
“Choosing Las Vegas was such a strange decision for me as a fundamentalist Mormon family,” Gwendlyn said.
“It’s Las Vegas. It’s Sin City. It’s so wild,” Brown, a student at Northern Arizona University, said on her show.
She also admitted that “the Mormon community in Las Vegas is evil. You are scary. And they are so right.’
“I felt I wasn’t Mormon enough for them. It was a horrible experience. Las Vegas, such a strange choice,” she added.
Gwendlyn is the second oldest child born to Kody and Christine Brown, with Aspyn (28), Mykelti (26), Paedon (24), Ysabel (19) and Truley (13).
Christine and Kody split in 2021 after 27 years together, Janelle divorced Kody in 2022 and Meri in 2023, with Kody still married to Robyn, whom he married in 2010.
Gwendlyn’s mother Christine made headlines for getting engaged to David Wooley after just a few months.

Speaking to People, Christine said she had never experienced love like she had with David.
“David treats me like a queen and tells me every day I’m beautiful,” she told the outlet. “I’ve never been more in love and the world seems a better place with him.”
“I am so looking forward to the wonderful adventure that we will experience for the rest of our lives.”
It had been just two months since Christine announced she was in a new relationship when she went Instagram official with David on Valentine’s Day.
She said she never dreamed [she] could find so much love,” reads a caption accompanying a photo carousel of photos of them together.
“I finally found the love of my life, David,” Christine said. “The first time he held me, it felt like my soul took its first breath. He is wonderful and friendly, amazing with my children and a lovely grandfather.”
The Valentine’s Day revelation came a week after Christine revealed on the social media site that she was back in a committed relationship.
