Nicole Kidman’s cousin Lucia Hawley has spoken out after landing a great new job as a red carpet reporter for the E! Network.
Lucia, daughter of Nicole’s sister Antonia Kidman, spoke of privilege and admitted she came from a “privileged life and background”.
The young journalist (25) said her family ties made her more determined to prove herself in the industry.
She said on Women’s Day this week: “I will never deny my privilege and I actually put my hand up and say: ‘Yes, I am privileged, I come from a very privileged family and I am so grateful for the opportunities that brought into my life as a result.
“All I can do is work hard and make an individual name for myself and prove myself.”

Discussing her “Fake Baby” track, she added: “If that’s the worst thing that’s been said about me, then so be it.”
The term “nepo baby,” short for “nepotism baby,” comes from a recent New York Magazine article that mentioned American celebrities who used their famous parents and family to build their careers.
Among the names mentioned were Jaden Smith, son of actors Will and Jada Pinkett Smith; Zoë Kravitz, daughter of rock star Lenny Kravitz and actress Lisa Bonet; and Maya Hawke, whose parents are actors Uma Thurman and Ethan Hawke.

The signing comes days after Lucia explained why she shouldn’t be called the ‘fake babe’ despite her enviable showbiz connections.

As the new face of Live From E! the aspiring journalist will attend Australia’s biggest events, interview celebrities and cover the hottest fashion moments.
While some have accused Lucia of using her ‘fake baby’ connections to further her media career, she maintains she worked hard to land her ‘dream job’.
“I’ve been working on it,” she told The Sunday Telegraph recently.
Lucia admitted in her interview that her mother’s work as a TV presenter benefited her career, but only because it taught her “perspective” rather than opening doors.
