He then joked: “Everyone had a great night.”

A shocked Ranvir replied, “In the theatre! It used to be so elitist. It’s something very…it should be obvious to everyone, I’m not saying it should be elitist.”

Richard agreed: “I suppose it’s almost Shakespearean. There were riots with Shakespeare during his plays in the 16th century.”

But Ranvir warned, “We don’t want that, do we?”

Melody discussed the incident on her Instagram story on Saturday, thanking those who were “respectful” and saying “it feels horrible” the show should be stopped.

She continued, “I’m so thankful for the people who respect those on stage who wanted to give you a beautiful show.

“For everything that happened tonight I can’t say, I don’t have all the details. I’m just very sorry we couldn’t finish the show, I fought very hard, it feels terrible.”

“I just hope we meet again. The Bodyguard is a great show, it’s a great show, it’s a love story and I know people were looking for a really good show

“I want to thank everyone who respected the artists and I feel sorry for those who didn’t. Thank you I love you.”

Melody’s apology comes after a woman was dragged from the gig by security after she refused to stop singing despite the venue’s rules.

Shocking footage shows the moment the woman was forcibly removed from Manchester’s Palace Theater as riot police were called.

The performance was interrupted in the first act because the theater staff had to drag out several loud singers during the performance.

It was stopped again just 10 minutes after the final curtain, when the police arrived at the scene.

Others present said “fights” and “mini-riots” broke out in the theater during the chaotic performance, reports the Manchester Evening News.

Spectators applaud as guards are pulled out.

About six police officers were photographed at the scene while several police cars were parked outside.

A person at the show wrote online: “I’ve seen a lot of reports of bad behavior in the theater lately and wonder if it’s a bit exaggerated. Anyway, tonight at the Palace they had to stop the show during the first act to kick out disruptive viewers.

“They had to interrupt the show AGAIN during the finale because people were yelling, screaming and incredibly disruptive. Just incredibly disrespectful to the actors. And they refuse to go. It’s terrible. Never seen anything like it.

“They decided not to finish the performance because of the mistake. Sorry for the whole cast. Kudos to all Manchester Palace staff trying to deal with an incredibly difficult situation. Three police vehicles in front of the theater. Terrible.’

Another said: “There was a lot of fuss about Melody Thornton [the lead singer] who was solo on stage at the time.

Her microphone was muted and the curtain fell for the second time. A fight broke out in the upper stands as security forces tried to deal with members of the public.

“It was about ten minutes from the end after an earlier break in the show when others were removed.”

Another added: “I can’t believe we were all kicked out with 10 minutes to go. Disrespectful idiots sing and shout. I felt sorry for the great actors and was disappointed that I could not see the end.’
