CBS to air Daytime Emmys through 2024; Set the date for the 50th annual ceremony

CBS has extended its deal with NATAS to air the Daytime Emmys through 2024.

She has now set the date for this year’s milestone celebration; The 50th annual event will be broadcast live on CBS and streamed live on Paramount+ on Friday, June 16 (9:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. ET).

This year marks the 17th time CBS has aired the Daytime Emmys, more than any other network.

The ceremony will take place at the Westin Bonaventure Los Angeles. Nominations and more information will be available in the coming weeks.

“We are thrilled to be back two years with our incredible broadcast partner CBS,” said Adam Sharp, president and CEO of NATAS. “As we celebrate the show’s golden anniversary this year, we look forward to honoring and celebrating the beloved world of daytime television.

“CBS has a rich daytime history, and we’re excited to keep the Daytime Emmys on the network for the next two years,” added Mackenzie Mitchell, VP of specials, music and live events at CBS. “We look forward to celebrating the show’s 50th anniversary and highlighting the best the day has to offer.”

The Daytime Emmy Awards have recognized excellence in television programming and the craft since 1974 and recognize work in a variety of categories, including daytime drama, talk shows, educational programming, hosting and legal/court programming. In 2021, the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS) and the Television Academy jointly announced plans to align the Daytime and Primetime Emmy Awards by content genre rather than program airtime.

Additionally, in recognition of the significant increase in content and submissions for children’s programming, the first annual Kids and Family Emmy Awards were presented in 2022, with relevant categories splitting the Daytime Emmys into their own competition and ceremony. All awards are judged by a pool of peers from across the television industry.

The 50th annual Daytime Emmys are produced by NATAS and Associated Television International (ATI), which produced the 2009 Daytime Emmy Awards on The CW and 2010, 2011, 2020, 2021 and 2022 on CBS. Adam Sharp and Lisa Armstrong are executive producers on NATAS while McKenzie is executive producer on ATI.
