Chase viewers all say the same thing when they discover a royal connection to the contestants

Viewers of The Chase were distracted this week as they witnessed a royal connection between the four contestants.

The ITV game show, hosted by Bradley Walsh, welcomed players Henry, Liz, Tudor and Mary in the hope of beating the chaser and going home with some cash.

But avid viewers noticed an amusing connection between the players’ names and the British royal family.

Host Bradley was unaware of the very majestic naming quartet, each named after a former monarch.

One viewer took to Twitter to point out the link, writing: “So #TheChase laughs tonight on #ITV. Find the connection in the names!’

From Henry VII to Mary I and Elizabeth II, each name has a very strong royal connection – with fans convinced the producers made them up on purpose.

Although the team had a strong name line, their day jobs are not quite as royal as the monarchy.

Mary is a 49-year-old pediatric nurse from Wigan, Henry, 70, a retired insurance specialist from Essex, Liz, 28, an operations co-ordinator from Stockport and Tudor, 57, a data migration specialist from Kent.

One fan wrote on social media: “A royal event today,” while another agreed: “I can’t get over this series on #thechase very 16th century.”

A third tweeted, noting Bradley’s lack of attention: “Brad never noticed the connection between the names?”

This comes after driver Paul Sinha opened up about his battle with Parkinson’s disease last week while commenting on a recent episode on social media.

The 52-year-old quizzer, who was diagnosed with the disease in 2019, shared on Twitter that he was “sociable” about his medication as a result.

Paul was seen talking to the contestants trying to beat him and win the prize and receive Bradley.

However, fans rallied to support him and praised him for his work on the show.

One person wrote: “You are amazing Paul,” while a second added: “Why apologize you bring hope and inspiration to many people suffering from Parkinson’s.”

A third said: “I think you’re brilliant! I like your conversation.’

Meanwhile, another person added their support, writing: “Definitely unnecessary and good for you you’re cute”.
