Gray cardinals of the fashion industry: 5 of the coolest Russian stylists

Previously, stylists were seen as the gray cardinals of the fashion industry. They’ve dressed world-class celebrities on the red carpet (and beyond), put together looks for shows, run stylized ad campaigns, and always stay behind the scenes. Only those in the industry knew who was responsible for the release of a particular star. Now times have changed, and social networks have proven that not only those who participate in prestigious awards and defile on the podium are worth considering.

We all love Lotta Volkova (we wrote a separate article about her by the way), Harry Lambert (Harry Styles’ stylist), Dani Michele (Hailey Bieber’s stylist) and Lo Roach (Zendaya’s stylist) we know. They have long made a name for themselves, gained industry recognition and truly deserve thousands of viewers on social networks.

What do we have? Who dresses the native girls and stylises the shots for glossy magazines? We gathered together the five most talked about people who bring style even to those who don’t care at all in the industry.

Misha and Kitty

If you’ve been following Masha Minogarova and the Day Before Yesterday News, you’ve probably managed to spot the “totally crazy” (in the presenter’s own words) images on the screen. Therefore, stylists Misha and Kitty are responsible for all the intricate outfits. To avoid questions, we immediately add that Misha is a girl, and Kitty is a boy. Derivatives from real names – Masha and Nikita – came up with each other about 10 years ago, and then began to use them in their work.

In the industry, the guys are called the most daring and promising creative duo, as well as the main adherents of avant-garde fashion and professional former treasure hunters. Meanwhile, last year they opened their own store, which contains rare brand archives.

Salavat Kypere

His photo hangs in Alexandre Vauthier’s office, and Kanye West himself subscribes to his account. And no, not from Western celebrities, but St. Petersburg stylist and fashion influencer Victoria Churaeva (better known as Salavat Kypere). And if earlier it was associated with the Berghain aesthetic and walked with ugly images that necessarily included latex, leather and over-the-knee boots, now the vector of attention has shifted to Japanese culture and the avant-garde.

By the way, it is Vika who is responsible for the new style of Ksenia Shipilova. And yes, we can safely say that this is a match made in heaven.

Ksyusha Smo

In our humble opinion, Ksyusha Smo is one of the most talented stylists in the domestic fashion industry. We first learned about him after the release of the Pharaoh’s video “Wildly, for example.” And a few years later, Ksyusha had a “match” with Nastya Ivleeva. Thanks to the contribution of the stylist, the images of the Russian blog diva have changed beyond recognition. Tight jeans and logo sweatshirts have been replaced by daring Chopova Lowena skirts, rough jackets from vintage stores and sexy “naked” dresses.

But that’s not all we love and appreciate Ksyusha Smo. He is also developing his Selected Moscow showroom and developing his own clothing line, Lovers4Lovers. By the way, the horned bonnets of his authorship are already worn by Billy Eilish, Julia Fox, Renata Litvinova and a large number of domestic fashionistas.

Ibrahim Gatsiev

Do you know how much a day shoot of this Russian stylist costs? Three thousand dollars. It was this figure that Ibragim Gatsiev named in an interview with Madonna Moore, explaining that he prefers not to waste energy in the projects that followed. Now among her clients are Anastasia Mironova and Tatevik Karapetyan, and earlier Abraham was the stylist of Ksenia Shipilova. But that’s not all. Last year, Gatziev, together with Evgenia Pavlin, founded the brand Planta Rosa, whose clothes are still the dream of all city fashionistas.

Katya Muhina

Twenty years of experience in fashion, working with Patrick Demarchelier and Peter Lindbergh, and being on the “Fashion Industry – 500 most influential people in the industry” list. This, of course, is about Katya Mukhina, from Marie Claire’s assistant in the fashion department to Vogue fashion director (a first in history) and editor-in-chief of Elle magazine. Now he remains almost the most sought-after stylist, works with Aquazurra, and a personal meeting with him costs 200 thousand rubles.
