Drew Barrymore has been tapped to host the 2023 MTV Movie & TV Awards. Celebrating the best in film and television, the annual Shindig Awards will stream live from the Barker Hanger in Los Angeles on Sunday, May 7 at 8:00 PM ET/PT. The ceremony will also be broadcast live internationally to more than 150 countries.

Barrymore is no stranger to the MTV Movie & TV Awards. She was nominated nine times in total and took home three Golden Popcorns. She won her first prize for “Best kiss”. The Wedding Singer. She also won Best On-Screen Team for it. Charlie’s angel (2001). She was last nominated for Best Talk/Current Show at the MTV Movie & TV Awards 2022: Unscripted. In 2020, she and Adam Sandler were also recognized as “Dynamic Duo” at the MTV Awards: Greatest of All Time.
Barrymore currently hosts the syndicated Daytime Talker The Drew Barrymore Showwhich has been extended on CBS stations through the 2023-2024 season.
Executive producers for the 2023 MTV Movie & Television Awards are MTV’s Bruce Gillmer, Wendy Plaut and Vanessa Whitewolf, with thieves’ hideout Jesse Ignjatovic and Barb Bialkowski. Jackie Barba and Alicia Portugal are Executive Producers and Lisa Lauricella is the Music Talent Executive.
