Lady Gaga Will Not Perform at Oscars; The nominated song from Top Gun: Maverick is recognized in tracks

After weeks of speculation, Oscarcast director Glenn Weiss said today that Lady Gaga has released her Best Song nominee, Hold My Hand. Top Gun: Maverick Sunday at the 95th Annual Academy Awards.

The singer told producers that she plans to attend the ceremony as a nominee, but will not have time to prepare a musical number because she is busy with the Warner Bros. Preparing DC sequel. Joker: Folie a Deux with Joaquin Phoenix.

The other four were nominated for an Oscar for Best Original Song – “Applause” (by Tell it like a woman), “pick me up” (Black Panther: Wakanda Forever), “Naatu Naatu” (RRR) and “It’s a Life” (Everything, everywhere, all at once) – will be performed during the show.

In an interview this week with Deadline’s Awards columnist Pete Hammond, Oscarcast producer Ricky Kirshner said of Gaga possibly appearing on the show, “We’ve made some appearances and other announcements. So I would say that the ones we announced were very creative in making their song very performance oriented and very visual.As you can imagine, Everything, everywhere, all at once. Very visual. David Byrne [who co-wrote and performed that film’s song “This Is a Life”] I had a lot of say in how it was going to look, so it was going to be cool. So we’re excited about all the gigs we have.
