shania two revealed that she is finally coming to terms with aging after years of struggling with body confidence issues. The 57-year-old country music icon opened up about aging gracefully in a new interview with Mirror, stating that it took a lot of thinking and a nude photo shoot to learn to love her body. “I was going crazy inside, but nobody knew it,” says the “That Don’t Impress Me Much” singer. “Now I see myself naked and I like being honest with myself.”

“There were moments where I wished I could turn off the lights because all I could see were the imperfections, so I thought, ‘Okay, how do I go about dealing with this and get to a point where I accept this?'” She continued. “So I did a nude photoshoot to find a healthier, more realistic perspective of myself.”
The photo test was so successful that Shania said she wanted to share what she learned from the experience. “I say you should look in the mirror and feel good,” she explained. “I’m just going to get older and flabbier. If I hate myself now, where will I be in five or ten years?
The music superstar also revealed that the self-doubt started when she was a teenager struggling with her changing body. “When I was a teenager, my breasts got so big. I couldn’t stop them from jumping, so I had to tie them up and put on two bras and baggy clothes,” she explained. “I just didn’t want those breasts and thought I wanted breast reduction, but they calmed down. I thought, ‘I’m glad I I didn’t. This is how I should look'”
In another anecdote about her health, Shania recalled being airlifted to a hospital in Switzerland after contracting COVID-19 and pneumonia in 2020. In speaking with Mirror in February, he said the “very scary” incident occurred during the height of the pandemic, while at his home on Lake Geneva. “It got progressively worse. My vital signs were deteriorating and I eventually had to be air evacuated,” Shania explained. “It took several days to start making antibodies, so it was a very dangerous and scary time.”
“I’ve gotten over it and I’m so thankful,” she said, before acknowledging her good fortune. “I thought, ‘Wow, if I lived alone in a more isolated place, I don’t know what would have happened.’ My heart goes out to the people who don’t have that support to help them get the right care,” she explained.
