Everything was decided at the last minute.
Fans of the iconic franchise may never see Albus Dumbledore played by Richard Harris. And all because he himself was not on fire with the idea of appearing in a series of films about the young wizard Harry Potter.
For a long time, the actor did not want to give permission for this role, despite the fact that the creators tried with all their might to convince him. It didn’t help that he was always offered an incremental compensation. The prospect of getting stuck in this project did not amuse Harris, who was 71 years old at the time. Not wanting to spend the rest of the days on set, the performer still refused. However, his granddaughter unexpectedly influenced his decision.
She said, “Grandfather, I heard you won’t be in the Harry Potter movie,” and said, “If you don’t play Dumbledore, I’ll never talk to you again,” she told Main Screen in the early 2000s. from Hogwarts with The Guardian.
Unfortunately, Richard Harris managed to participate in only two parts of the franchise. He died in 2002.
