kelsey grammar paid tribute to the deceased Kirstie alley during an interview with rachael ray show Tuesday 21 February. The actor, 68, said he “loved” his former co-star, who died aged 71 in December after a battle with colon cancer. Kelsey had so many kind things to say about the late actress. “She has always been beautiful. He just had this thing about her. He was a radiant human being, and that showed in her. She knew how to love. She was so honest in her emotions about her the whole time,” she said.
Kelsey continued and recalled how Kirstie appeared to her in difficult situations and also fondly recalled her sense of humor. “I’ve had some trouble with the law for a while Health. She appeared. She was one of the only ones who really came out and tried to support me, and that was great,” she said. “She was just a wonderful person. She always made me laugh. Everything she did made me laugh. The first time I went to her house, there were lemurs living on the property and I was like, ‘Only in Kirstie’s world.’”
OR Fraser star also talked about attending a party to celebrate the release of Health co-creator Jimmy Burrows’ new book, and said she missed her co-star, who died soon after. “Kirstie was visibly missing and a week later she was gone,” she said.
Following Kirstie’s death in December, several of her co-stars paid tribute to her, and at the time, Kelsey released a brief statement honoring her late co-star at People. “I’ve always believed that mourning a public figure is a private matter, but I’ll say I loved it,” she said.
Kirstie’s children REAL AND Lilia Parker shared the news that her mother had passed away after a battle with colon cancer in a statement on Twitter. “We are saddened to report that our amazing, fierce and loving mother has passed away after a battle with recently discovered cancer,” they said. “She was surrounded by her closest family and she fought very hard, leaving us with the assurance of her infinite joy for life and the adventures that awaited her. As iconic as she was on screen, she was an even more incredible mother and grandmother.”
