The 10th Annual Makeup Artists and Hairstylists Guild Awards will be held Saturday night at the Beverly Hilton with a live in-person ceremony.
This year’s MUAHS Awards will award trophies in 23 categories to recognize excellence in makeup and hairstyling in film, television, commercials and live theatre. Melissa Peterman celebrates IATSE Local 706 tonight.
Angela Bassett was the evening’s first honoree, accepting the Guild’s Distinguished Artisan Award. Other honorees tonight went to Steve LaPorte (makeup) and Josée Normand (hair) with Lifetime Achievement Awards; and Fred C. Blau (makeup) Jr. and Judy Crown (her) with Vanguard Awards.
There are already double winners in the early competition TV categories Guardians of the Galaxy: Holiday Specialmakeup and makeup effects; american horror stories achieving both makeup and hairstyling wins in the commercial and music video races; The chase sweeps the field of programming for children and youth; And Legendary winning twice in the live program categories.

In 2022, the MUAHS prize was added When the Ricardos, Coming 2 America, And Cruella in the film categories. Tammy Faye’s eyes got the Oscar.
