Chris’ apology came after he received some backlash for the behavior he publicly displayed after Robert was declared the winner of the award over him. “Bro, who the hell is this? They’re playing,” he wrote with a few smiley emojis, in one of the now-deleted posts he shared on his Instagram story. Other posts talked about the pianist and thinking about how he could win the award. “I need to improve my skills” , he wrote. “I’ll start playing the harmonica.”

Like his original reaction, Chris’ apology to Robert also received backlash. Huffington Post publisher philip lewis shared the screenshot on his Twitter along with an additional caption that included Chris’s quote about Robert being “offended” by his reaction to his Grammy loss. It wasn’t long before followers of him started sharing comments with their thoughts on the apology.

“Chris said he wanted to apologize not that he was actually apologizing and continued accordingly,” one follower wrote. “Chris Brown is 33 years old. There is no excuse for your deeply disrespectful speech yesterday or for this little apology. Where are this man’s people? asked another.

Robert, who has won five of his 11 Grammy nominations, still didn’t respond to Chris when he shared the apology screenshot. It is unknown if he has read it since or if he read it at the time of Chris’ public post.
