Kate Bush, Willie Nelson and Missy Elliott Among 2023 Rock Hall Of Fame Nominees – Full List

Kate Bush’s new jobstrange things The career continues to climb new hills: the British singer-songwriter is one of 14 nominees for induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2023.

The Rock Hall Foundation announced today the following nominees:

  • Kate Bush
  • Sheryl Crow
  • Mrs. Elliot
  • Iron Maiden
  • Joy Division / New Order
  • Cyndi Lauper
  • George Michael
  • Willy Nelson
  • rage at the machine
  • healthy garden
  • The strangers
  • A clan called Quest
  • The white stripes
  • Warren Zevon

To be nominated, an individual artist or band must have released their first commercial recording at least 25 years prior to the year of nomination. Eight of the 14 nominees are voting for the first time, including Sheryl Crow, Missy Elliott, Joy Division/New Order, Cyndi Lauper, George Michael, Willie Nelson, The White Stripes and Warren Zevon.

This is your first year of eligibility for Missy Elliott and The White Stripes.

“This remarkable list of nominees reflects the diverse artists and music that the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame honors and celebrates,” said John Sykes, president of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Foundation. “These artists created their own sounds that influenced generations and influenced countless others who followed in their footsteps.”

The nominees were announced today on the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame social channels and on SiriusXM Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Radio and Volume on the SXM app.

Nominated ballots are sent to an international voting organization of more than 1,000 artists, historians and members of the music industry. Consideration is given to an artist’s musical impact and influence on other artists, the length and depth of career and oeuvre, and innovation and excellence in style and technique.

The new additions will be announced in May. The 2023 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony will be held this fall, with a date, location and sales information to be announced.
