EGOT winner Rita Moreno will receive the Casting Society’s Lynn Stalmaster Award at next month’s 38th annual Artios Awards. The organization also hired Yvette Nicole Brown to host the March 9 ceremony at the Beverly Hilton.
Moreno, whose 80 for Brady Hitting theaters Friday and earning an Oscar nomination for Steven Spielberg’s Last Year West side story after winning an Oscar for the original 1961. She also received the 2002 Stanley Kramer Award from the Producers Guild. These are among the latest accolades in a seven-decade career that began with her Broadway debut at age 13. Moreno’s EGOT-eligible awards also include two Emmys, a Grammy in 1973, and a Tony two years later. She has also received the Presidential Medal of Freedom from President George W. Bush, the National Medal of Arts from President Barack Obama, the SAG Life Achievement Award, the Peabody Career Achievement Award, and a Kennedy Center Honor.

This year’s Artios Awards also recognize casting director Leslee Feldman (the Hoyt Bowers Award for Outstanding Cast), Black Theater United (the Marion Dougherty New York Apple Award for Outstanding Service to the New York Entertainment Industry) and the casting director. Jessica Sherman (The Rosalie Joseph Humanitarian Award for her outstanding contributions to humanitarian causes.)
Simone Baer, who was selected last year to receive the 2023 European Capelier-Shaw Award for Excellence in Casting, recently passed away and will receive her award posthumously.
