Maria Thattil has announced that she is in a relationship for the first time since coming out as bisexual.
The former Miss Universe Australia, 29, spoke to Stellar Magazine about her romance with friend Jogia O’Hare, 29 – known online as Jorgee Rae – and how the pair hit it off almost immediately.
“It was lust at first sight and it was obsession at first sight,” she said of the Melbourne psychotherapist.

“After that first date I slept the night away and the next day I went to the Gold Coast with my brother on a business trip and I secretly called her my girlfriend. I haven’t had that feeling in a long time.”
Maria, who is of Indian descent, added: “Had I grown up and seen a same-sex interracial female couple in the media – open, visible, living honestly – maybe it would have made my own experience a little more positive has.
Jogia made a name for herself on the social media platform TikTok with 86,000 followers.

The couple sparked dating rumors after fans spotted them exchanging flirtatious messages online.
Photos on Jorgee’s Instagram account show the two looking cozy together.
Maria, a model and 9Honey columnist, commented insightfully on several of Jorgee’s posts with “Dream girl” and “wowweeeeeee.”
Her sexuality is no secret as she frequently uses the hashtag #LesbiansofTikTok when posting on the popular social media app.

Maria came out as bisexual in January last year while taking part in Channel 10’s I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! and has since defined herself as pansexual.
On National Coming Out Day in October, she reflected on this milestone.
“If I could be in the closet a year ago and feel comfortable talking about strap-ons 365 days later, I believe in you,” she told her fans.

In April, Maria revealed that she is no longer afraid to meet women in public, after previously admitting she was worried about how it might be seen.
“I’m no longer afraid of the story being taken out of my hands,” she told the Who.
“I’ve been dating casually for a year, some men and some women, and I don’t care who they see or what they say.”
