‘Don’t listen to another word they say’: Kim Woodburn demands Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield sacked as she angrily engages in ‘rope gate’

Kim Woodburn has called for the sacking of This Morning’s Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield as she angrily engages in the ‘rope gate’.

The Celebrity Big Brother star, 80, tackled drama again when he appeared on the Not My Bagg podcast.

Holly and Philip were accused of jumping the queue at London’s Westminster Hall last week as tens of thousands of mourners waited patiently for 12 hours to pay their respects to Her Majesty – but claimed their visit was ‘for reporting purposes only’.

Furious: Kim Woodburn has demanded This Morning’s Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield be sacked as she angrily engages in ‘rope gate’.

Speaking about the incident, Kim told Gogglebox presenters Joe and George Baggs: “You weren’t asked to cover the Queen’s funeral.

“They snuck in and snuck in this press stuff they have because they didn’t want to stand in line, it’s way too high and powerful. It is true.

“Don’t listen to another word they say. They are not signed, they are not allowed to film, no one is allowed, so they sneak in.

She added angrily: “They should have lost their jobs.”

The ‘devastated’ presenters, who were reportedly paid up to £600,000 to present the popular Monday to Thursday daytime show, faced mounting anger after footage emerged of them ‘jumping the queue’ as tens of thousands of mourners waited patiently . 12 hours straight.

Holly was reportedly in tears as she and Phil asked both This Morning bosses to defend them from the ensuing storm – and was furious that ITV sat on their hands before releasing a short statement on Saturday telling them that the couple defended.

The couple were keen to publicly apologize for “Queue Gate” but were stalled after seeking legal advice, a source told MailOnline.

“Initially Holly and Phillip were prepared to apologize if they upset anyone as they are both desperate to end the relationship. But they were strongly discouraged from apologizing.”

But Kim isn’t the only one who has spoken out against Holly and Phil – just as Eammon Holmes hit out at his former co-host on GB News on Wednesday.

Speaking to GB News Breakfast, Eamonn, 62, made it clear he did not believe his former colleagues and said they had “blown it”.

Speaking to presenter Clare Muldoon, Eamonn said: “I’ll tell you what’s strategic. According to The Sun, why is Holly struggling to keep her job but not Mr Phillip?

Clare replied: “Who knows? Twitter said last night she didn’t want to quit her job at This Morning.

“Who wouldn’t want to give up £600,000 a year and all that comes with it? I think the stamp is very damaged. There must be a change from top to bottom this morning.

Eamonn then read Holly and Phillip’s statement saying “We didn’t stand in line, we worked” and asked himself “Why didn’t your boss work there with you?”

Referring to a picture of Holly in a mask at Westminster Hall, Clare asked: ‘Why was she wearing a mask?’ Is she allergic to the public?’

Eamonn replied, “No, she does. “Holly cries,” but Holly always cries. But wearing a mask – I think she’s quite scared, germ-averse.”

Co-host Isabel Webster said the quick tracking of Holly and Philip was no different to what other broadcasters have done when covering the Queen in state.

But a still unimpressed Eammon replied: “They didn’t get a fast track, they say. Lie. They say they did not respect the body. Lie. What were they different for? Let’s just tell the truth about the whole thing.

“They screwed it up, and instead of being arrogant and saying, ‘We worked there as journalists,’ why don’t they just say, ‘Yeah, we thought it was a good idea’.”

Meanwhile, the former This Morning host also made his feelings known on Twitter when he responded with praying hand emojis to one user, who wrote: “You [Holly and Phillip] should be fired, Eamonn and Ruth are far better than these idiots.

Members of the public have even started a petition calling for Holly and Phil to be sacked from ITV, which has now reached 50,000 signatures.
