And while the lesbian couple looked to be having the time of their lives at the lavish event, the Pitch Perfect star, 42, is now facing criticism from fans who point out that the UAE is failing because of its anti-LGBT laws are known.
After Rebel posted about the classy trip on Instagram, many followers wondered why she was promoting tourism in a country where same-sex sexual activity is a criminal offense – even though those laws aren’t always enforced.

The opening of the luxury resort hotel included an exclusive concert by Beyoncé, who reportedly paid $34 million for her performance.

Supporters were quick to criticize Wilson for promoting the UAE and one of its most luxurious cities, citing its notorious anti-gay laws.
“So…any news on the LGBTQ situation there?” one asked.
“Aren’t you a member of the LGBTQ+ community?” another noticed.

Channel Seven host Sonia Kruger, who inexplicably made the guest list, initially thought her invite to the “next crazy” opening was a “joke” as it came via her Instagram DMs.
She told Fifi, Fev and Nick on Monday morning: “You go through the hotel lobby and past Kendall Jenner, there’s Jay-Z at the beach bar.”

Amnesty International interprets the article to mean that rapists of both men and women are sentenced to death, but it can also be translated as “Whoever rapes a woman or sodomizes a man.”
