Like China, Hong Kong has maintained a strict zero-covid strategy, keeping its borders largely closed during the pandemic, with mandatory quarantine at hotels designated for returning residents.
For most of last year, people had to be quarantined for 21 days, but recently it has been shortened to seven days.
Last week, Hong Kong lifted a two-year ban on non-residents flying into the city. However, widespread tourism or short-term quiet business travel is unlikely to return.
Airlines only fly a few routes to Hong Kong compared to pre-pandemic, and airlines carrying more than five coronavirus cases will face a five-day ban on that route under current rules.

Role: Portrayed as General Moon in 2002’s Die Another Day.
