King Charles III made his first public appearance since his son, prince harryBook of memories Save leaked, with its damning allegations against the new monarch going viral ahead of the January 10 publication date. Wearing a camel coat and frowning, Charles walked to a church near Buckingham Palace on Sunday 8 January.
The release comes hours after excerpts from the book claim Charles banished Harry’s wife, Megan Marklevisit Queen Elizabeth as he lay dying at his home at Balmoral Castle in Scotland. Harry said he told his father in response, “Never talk about my wife like that,” reportedly after the book’s accidental sale in Spain, by ABC News.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were visiting London on Sept. 8, 2022, when they received a call for the couple to rush to Balmoral to see Harry’s dying grandmother, according to the daily email. After an initial announcement from Harry’s reps that he and Meghan were taking a trip to Scotland, the plan changed a few hours later; Harry ended up flying solo on a private jet to Balmoral, arriving shortly after the announcement of the Queen’s death.
As for why Meghan hasn’t been allowed to accompany her husband, a source in the daily email she said it was about keeping the circle around the queen as private and small as possible. The inmates claimed of Prince William wife Kate Middleton he was also asked not to come to Balmoral. “Charles told Harry it wasn’t right or appropriate for Meghan to be at Balmoral at such a deeply sad time,” the source explained. “He was told Kate would not be coming and numbers should be limited to close relatives.”
The news comes after the leak of a number of explosives extracted from Save it included one of Harry and William allegedly physically arguing over Meghan. Harry claimed William called Meghan “rude” and “abrasive” during a heated encounter in 2019. “She grabbed me by the neck, snatched my necklace and threw me to the floor. I landed in the dog bowl, which it split under my back, cutting me to pieces. I stood there for a moment in a daze, then stood up and told her to leave,” he wrote.
