Instead of adult content, the account posts videos of the animals digging burrows, playing, carrying grass and occasionally squabbling with each other.

Funding a 60-year study

The researchers are trying to raise funds to continue a decades-long study of a colony of yellow-bellied marmots, after the 60-year-old project came close to being shut down. One of the biologists said the study costs between $75,000 and $100,000 a year to run.

The report also noted an earlier case in which a wild marmot hitchhiked its way to the Denver Zoo, clinging to a spot above a wheel on a zoo staff truck, and nearly stayed there. Staff did not spot the animal until three hours into the drive.
