Wearing the cheeks in an intense pink that simulates a light sunburn (as those skiers usually get after spending so much time in the snow) is fashionable. No, we’ve gone mad, says Tik Tok and Instagram (and haute couture catwalks), where we can’t stop to see how ‘blush’ has simultaneously become the star product of a good intense ‘make-up’ so natural.. Gisela Bosque, Sephora’s National Makeup Artist, has the keys to creating this look (without burning). Take note!
“It’s not just about finding the most suitable tone, but also where it is applied, namely on the cheeks and on the bridge of the nose,” explains Gisela Bosque. “I recommend working the blush in a spiral on the cheeks, lightly at first, and increasing the intensity on the nose, which always gets more sunlight. Although to trace the real effect, you should also apply a minimal amount on the forehead next to the hairline and on the chin,” he emphasizes. “It’s better to opt for cream and gel blushes, which are much easier to blend into the skin and provide a more natural result,” advises Sephora’s National Makeup Artist. “But beware, because if your skin is oily, powder formulas are your thing.”
Complete the look by adding a few highlights to the upper parts of the face, such as the brow bone, cupid’s bow, upper cheekbones and a little on the bridge of the nose. “To get a more ‘transparent’ result, which seems to come from within, the blush can be applied under the make-up base using the ‘underpaint’ technique,” Bosque concludes.
