5 secrets for long-lasting makeup in the heat

When it’s so hot outside that you want to go out with just a portable fan, the desire to put on makeup disappears on its own. Moreover, after a few hours, makeup can just say “bye-bye”. To prevent this from happening, you need to follow several rules. Ekaterina Gavrilova, eyebrow artist and makeup artist at Keep Looking beauty salons, shared her life hacks for creating summer makeup that won’t take much time but will make you feel your best.

Rule #1: Above all else, moisturize.

Before applying makeup, moisturize your skin thoroughly using your favorite serum and cream. In the summer, it is better to choose lighter textures that moisturize well but do not create a greenhouse effect on the skin. Do not forget about the area around the eyes – the skin under the eyes is very thin and always needs additional moisture. Therefore, you can apply patches for 15 minutes before applying eye cream. They will moisturize the skin, and if you leave it in the refrigerator overnight, it will create an excellent lymphatic drainage effect and reduce puffiness.

Rule #2: Light textures over dense textures

Use CC or BB cream instead of foundation. If the product contains SPF, this is an additional plus in such an active sun. It is better to apply with a brush or sponge – this way you will get a very thin layer and the skin will not be overloaded. Use a concealer slightly lighter than your tone under the eyes. Apply to the inner and outer corners of the eye, and then gently spread towards the nasolabial fold and temple.

Rule 3. Blush is the main focus

Pink blush is the best accent in summer makeup. Especially if you use cream products. It is convenient to apply such blush with your fingertips not only on the cheeks, but also on the eyelids and bridge of the nose – you get a light tan effect, as if you had just sunbathed.

Rule No. 4. Sponge for Photoshop effect

There is a life hack for those who do not like shiny skin and whose concealers often crease under the eyes. Take a damp sponge (squeeze it well and dry it with a napkin or towel, the sponge should not be wet), remove loose powder with it and, using tapping movements, fix the concealer under the eyes, walking along the area nasolabial folds. After such manipulations, the Photoshop effect will be achieved.

Rule 5. The final touch is to fix the makeup

In the end, it’s better to use a setting spray than not. My favorite is the d’Alba serum spray. Literally three or four presses and the skin is already glowing, healthy and the makeup is fixed. Moisturizing sprays can also be used for the same purpose.
