In our previous article, we introduced you to the iconic and timeless women’s fragrances that left their mark on perfume history. Now it’s men’s turn.
It is difficult to choose only 10 fragrances among so many, because each perfume is also a mirror of the time in which it was created. Therefore, below we have collected only those that remain in demand even after many years and are unlikely to lose their relevance.
Dior Eau Sauvage

Publication year: 1966
The first men’s fragrance of the house of Dior, which today has dozens of successors. The brand has always chosen its ambassadors among the most handsome men of the centuries. Once the face of Eau Sauvage was Alain Delon, and the zoomer generation identifies Sauvage with Johnny Depp.
Blue De Chanel

Publication year: 2010
Bleu de Chanel is an example of a perfectly planned marketing campaign. The fragrance was developed by perfumer Jacques Polge, French actor Gaspard Ulliel became the brand ambassador and the commercial was directed by Martin Scorsese. After Ulliel’s death, Timothée Chalamet became the face of the perfume.
Despite only being released in 2010, Bleu de Chanel quickly entered the pantheon of iconic men’s fragrances.
Davidoff Cold Water

Publication year: 1988
The Davidoff brand was long known for its cigars and tobacco products until it started producing perfumes in 1988. Of all the brand’s fragrances, the most popular today is Cool Water. Fresh, quite simple, but recognizable.
Paco Rabanne 1 Million

Publication year: 2008
Since its launch, the Paco Rabanne 1 Million fragrance has become an indispensable part of every man’s wardrobe. It was created in collaboration with three famous designers: Christophe Reynaud, Olivier Pesce and Michel Girard. And the perfume advertisement still lives in everyone’s imagination.
Giorgio Armani Aqua Di Gio

Publication year: 1996
The most famous Giorgio Armani fragrance of the late 90s still does not lose its relevance. Long-lasting but fresh, with the lightness of citrus and the sweetness of jasmine. And in 2015 there was a successor: Acqua Di Gio Profumo. Cleaner and more aromatic, with a sour amber-eucalyptus note.
Terre D’Hermes Hermes

Publication year: 2006
Terre D’Hermès is often called the best designer perfume of the 21st century. It won the Best Classic Men’s Fragrance of 2011 by Shortlist and the Best Classic Men’s Fragrance of 2012 by Bassnotes. Creator Jean-Claude Ellena described it best: “To feel the earth, to lie on it, to look up at the sky.” It has a slightly citrusy, spicy, and earthy woody scent.
Creed Aventus

Publication year: 2010
The immense popularity of Aventus played a cruel joke on him. The aroma soon became a scent that every man passing by in clubs and restaurants smelled. Therefore, many people got tired of it, just like Baccarat Rouge 540 once did. But this is not a reason to exclude it from the most cult ones. The dominant notes of pineapple, birch tar and musk inspired many copies, but none of them reached the status of Aventus.
Givenchy Gentleman

Publication year: 1974
Givenchy launched the first “Gentleman” in 1974. And forty years later, he decided to repeat his success and presented his vision of a real man of the new time – Only Gentleman. The concept of the perfume, the accompanying advertising campaigns and the bottle-like shape of the bottle remained unchanged.
Issey Miyake L’Eau D’Issey Pour Homme

Publication year: 1994
Issey Miyake L’Eau D’Issey was many people’s introduction to niche perfume. Jacques Cavalier combined unusual and rare ingredients like yuzu and water lily with bergamot, lemon and tarragon to create the scent. It also includes notes of coconut, tobacco, sandalwood, cedar and vetiver.
Calvin Klein CK One

Publication year: 1994
A fragrance that can boast of being included in two ratings at once: cult for women and men. A classic among CK One perfumes that can be combined with everything, like a white shirt.
