December is the month when we look forward not only to the New Year, but also to predictions about what trends will prevail in the next 12 months. But before moving on to them, let’s give some information about the results. Throughout 2023, numerous trends have quickly emerged and disappeared just as quickly, thanks to TikTok’s influence. Strawberry girl makeup, latte makeup, tomato girl aesthetics and other trends have fully emerged thanks to the social network with short videos. Some of these, like all microtrends, did not last long, and some provided a vector of development for later trends.
To find out what trends await us in the beauty industry this year, we consulted the predictions of experts, platforms and, of course, fashion weeks. Therefore, we now invite you to analyze together what awaits us in the new year.
Everything volumetric

According to Pinterest’s annual trend forecast, 2024 will mark the return of everything with the prefix “done.” Super voluminous hairstyles (it can be updo in the style of the 60s or airy curls like Farrah Fawcett), voluminous buns, long braids. However, hairstyle is not the only thing that can add volume. Large earrings, huge bows (by the way, bows, both large and small, will also be popular next year), voluminous hairpins – everything can be an excellent addition to your hairstyle.
Shine from head to toe

Another trend that Pinterest predicts will join us in 2024 is radiant body skin. Twilight’s (or vampire skin) vampire-like skin trend has been viewed more than 30 million times on TikTok this year and has hit the runway. The models’ radiant skin was seen by the makeup artists of the Diesel, Collina Strada and Hiushan Zhang fashion shows. Looks like you don’t have to wait for summer and stock up on sparkly lotions anymore.
Tone like a “second” skin

Thanks to the clean girl aesthetic, where bright and healthy skin is especially important, we have moved away from heavy foundations. Now the ideal coating is one that creates a “second” skin effect, leaving its natural shine but still masking imperfections. BB creams cope with this task, but next year we will watch as new generations of tonal products that combine the functions of cream and foundation will increasingly appear. It also cares for the skin and equalizes its tone. There are products with tonal effects called foundation liquid, foundation serum or moisturizer.
baby blush

Blush seems to be at the peak of its popularity this year. And they will not give up their positions. We applied the blush not only to the cheekbones, but also to the bridge of the nose, eyelids, forehead and chin. Now the blush returns to its former place. Experts call this trend doll blush. Hollywood makeup artist Tasha Reiko Brown also adds that the blush should be blended very well rather than applying the pigment in a sharp circle. This will create a soft gradient and resemble the blush of a porcelain doll.
Monochrome makeup

There’s been a real boom in monochrome makeup this summer and fall (with the help of TikTok, of course). Don’t forget the trendy strawberry girl look in all-pink tones or the latte makeup in brown tones. In other words, the trend of using similar colors in makeup will continue next year. That’s why we look forward to new “edible” trends.
bright highlight

The constant desire for minimalism in makeup does not mean that bright accents are completely excluded. Fashion week makeup artists prove that even a single splash of color makes a difference. The models in the Helmut Lang and Max Mara fashion shows had nothing on their faces other than lip or eye emphasis. While the makeup artists of the Helmut Lang fashion show chose bright red eyeliner, Max Mara makeup artists chose a cherry starch lip shade. Experts predict that next year we will increasingly complement basic makeup with bright eyeshadow or lipstick.
blurry lips

Chanel makeup artist Marco Antonio says so-called “blurred” lips will be trending in an interview with Allure. “Our goal is to create a gradient effect on the lips, where the color moves from a darker tone in the center to softer, diffused edges.” In general, this is where this unusual name comes from; The edges of the lips look blurred and blurry. The best way to achieve this effect is to apply the lipstick to the middle of your lips, avoiding the outer edges. Then spread it gently with your fingers or a brush. Then you need to take a cotton swab and make the transition from lipstick to skin smoother. By the way, this trend is very reminiscent of the Korean technique of applying lipstick.
