After several years of monthly visits to the nail salon and the regular refresh of the phone folder Manicure ideas, our beauty editor decided to follow the natural trend and remove the gel coat. Nails, of course, did not like such a radical change and began to break treacherously. It’s easy to guess how many times the words “nail repair” are searched on Google.

And let’s start with the classic – a broken nail.
tea bag method
The most convenient (and not only) way to fix broken nails at home is to use a tea bag. Strange as it may sound, the tea bag is made of thin, fibrous paper similar to the silk coating manicurists use to repair nails. Therefore, it has been used as an alternative.
So the action plan is as follows.
– Cut a small piece from the tea bag that will seal the crack and take the shape of your nail.
– Disinfect the nail and file the damaged area with a nail file.
– Apply glue to the crack and surrounding area.

– If necessary, apply another coat of glue to wet the tea bag.
Let the glue dry and sand the edges to smooth the transition between the tea bag and the nail.

This method is suitable even for coated nails. But such tricks are best used in extreme cases – for example, when an important event is a few minutes away and the nail breaks. If you still have time to go to the manicurist, it is better not to delay.

– Apply a small amount of special clear nail glue to the scene.
– Press the broken nail with the file and hold it in the right place for 10 seconds.
– Carefully remove excess adhesive with a cotton swab.
– If you are sinking a coated nail, do not polish it.
– When finished, apply a clear coat of nail polish to set your work.

I don’t see anything wrong with the tea bag method. They are available. But it’s better not to abuse it and accept that trimming the nail is usually the best solution.
I had a client who glued his nail with PVA glue. And that was pretty bad. You can do this only in extreme cases, and if the next day you come to the manicure master to correct the situation.
The best treatment for broken nails is to take precautions. If the plate is dry, it is more prone to breakage. Therefore, you should try to use hand cream and cuticle oils regularly to keep the nail bed moist and healthy.
