I saw a cool dress on a blogger, bought the same one and noticed that it looked awful in it. You may have noticed that green and graphic design go one way and pink and romantic ruffles go the other. It depends not only on the color of hair and eyes, but also on the type.
Type is not just physical parameters. It is also a look, facial expressions, gestures, flexibility. In general, the exterior is a complex impression.
In the 80s of the last century, the American stylist David Kibby wrote a style book called Metamorphoses. There he divided women into 13 types of appearance and gave clear advice on which clothes bring out beauty and which make them ugly. Everything is provided: from the hair to the shape of the shoes.

Anastasia Volovich, Kibby system expert
Specialist Anastasia Volovich told what types there are, how to determine your own, and what can and cannot be worn.
What are the types?

Kibby’s theory uses the yin-yang principle as a characterization of the type. Yang is angles and straight lines (in appearance, in clothes, even in the way he presents himself – angular, sharp).
Yin – roundness (in face, shape, dress and presentation).
There are five pure types
dramatic (long and narrow bones of the skeleton)
natural (long and wide bones of the skeleton)
classical (symmetrical bones of the skeleton)
gamine (mini-dramatic, long and narrow skeletal bones, but short in stature)
romantic (short and round bones of the skeleton)
Some are further divided into two subspecies.
How do you determine your type?

In fact, it is very difficult to do this on your own, because few people can objectively evaluate their own appearance. There is a test on the Internet to determine the type you need to answer questions about physical characteristics: height, shoulder shape, arm and leg length, waist shape.
However, according to the results of this test, 80% turned out to be classic – only the majority answer the question about their physical parameters, “I have normal, average shoulders.”
Of course, for an exact result, it is better to consult a specialist. He will need to send a photo, video, fill out a questionnaire, and sometimes even go to the store for special accessories.
How are test results improved?
1. Strip down to your underwear and ask to be photographed, as with model snaps. Answer the test questions by looking at these photos, not memorizing them.
2. Ask a friend who is most unlike you to take the test with you. By comparison, you can tell if your arms are long or short. At the same time, a friend’s side view is more objective.
Let’s take a closer look at each of the 13 species using the star example and try to determine which one you belong to.
Types and recommendations
ROMANTIC
Theatrical romantic (height 165 cm and under)
Figure: a pronounced waist, wide hips, rounded lines and a slight acuity of bone structure. Soft and fluffy hands and feet
Fat: improves proportionately, the body remains hourglass-like, the upper arms, legs and face become fat
Star: Kim Kardashian

Such girls should definitely emphasize the waist in clothes, choose finely draped fabrics, not be afraid to wear jewelry and bright colors. You can not abuse dense fabrics and large sizes, because it is a crime for them to hide the waist.
pure romantic (height 165 cm and below)
Figure: waist, feminine figure, but the features of the face are rounded without sharpness
Fat: the body becomes more rounded, the face becomes much fatter
Star: Drew Barrymore

Such a gentle look is generally killed off by any harshness and sharpness. Round soft cuts, thin fabrics, curtains, smooth color transitions in clothes, an underlined figure are appropriate – this is what brings out the beauty.
the game
soft play ( (height up to 166 cm)
Figure: very petite but somewhat broad, angular shoulders, doll-like features, curvaceous, inconspicuous waist, arms and legs short relative to body
Fat: the chest and hip area will improve greatly, the upper part of the arms and legs will become very soft
Star: Emilia Clarke

Short clothing is recommended (avoid floor length), shape-holding fabrics, rounded and tapered textures, bright dynamic colours.
pure game (height 166 cm and below)
Figure: straight, graceful, with narrow, angular shoulders and a fragile texture. Usually the deer have big eyes like Bambi.
Fat: only the hips and waist improve, the figure becomes square
Star: rooney mara

They are completely lost in the large size and look like men disguised in deliberately feminine outfits. Straight cut, bright colors that keep the shape of the fabric, a broken vertical and audacious brevity in clothes – this is what makes them bright beauties.
brilliant game (height 168 cm and below)
Figure: flat, no curves, broad bones and shoulders, large hands and feet
Fat: the body is recovered from the waist down. Face becomes fuller, arms and legs thicken
Star: Miley Cyrus (remember how you opened yourself up by changing your image)

It is extremely important for them to avoid monochromatic (boring), play with shapes and textures, and use bold bright details. Fashionable achromats and conciseness will not embellish at best, at worst they will kill the look.
CLASSICAL
Soft classic (height up to 168 cm)
Figure: fragile physique, but has small soft folds. Soft classic features are quite symmetrical and regular.
Fat: First, the waist becomes fat, the facial features become very thick and the body softens.
Star: marion cotillard

Thin fabrics, smooth silhouettes, soft color combinations emphasize the delicate appearance, while the excesses in jewelry are distorted.
pure classic (height from 162 to 171 cm)
Figure: symmetrical facial features, proportional body without significant folds, slightly angular
Fat: body takes fat evenly
Star: Alyssia Vikander

Moderation is recommended in everything: medium density fabric, medium length. The classics go with a symmetrical print: crow’s feet, polka dots, cage, stripe. But curtains are best avoided.
dramatic classic (height up to 171 cm)
Figure: the same classic with a compact and symmetrical figure, but sharper on the shoulders, sharp on the features of the face.
Fat: immediately visible and gathered from the waist down. The greater the weight, the clearer the shape takes on a pear shape.
Star: Michelle Dockery

For a dramatic classic, it’s important not to flirt with femininity, but to emphasize the aristocracy of features with sharp details and corners in clothing, shape-keeping fabrics, and well-stitched things.
NATURAL
Soft natural (height up to 171 cm)
Figure: soft folds, clear facial features and broad bone structure
Fat: the body softens and becomes thicker, the waist tightens. The fastest gains are in the upper arms, legs, and thighs.
Star: Scarlett Johansson

They are beautiful and fresh with soft fabrics, fitted flowing silhouettes, rich colors and natural textures.
Pure natural (average height and slightly above average, up to 174)

Star: Jennifer aniston

Pure naturals are manifested in casual style, soft fabrics, semi-fitting silhouettes, bright colors and slightly baggy styles. They also go with a broken vertical on clothing (top and bottom in different colors).
Glossy natural (height 165 cm and above, without top border)
Figure: tall and athletic with long, broad-boned limbs and blunt facial angles. Most models belong to this type.
Fat: the body becomes square, the face becomes fuller, the weight accumulates from the waist down
Star: Gigi Hadid

They look big on the floor (it just suits them but everyone wears it), loose fit, natural textures and soft fabrics. Most of the modern fashion trends are right for bright naturals. Things that are too small or elegant that will negatively contrast with a large figure are strictly prohibited.
DRAMATIC
Soft dramatic (size 165 and up, no cap)
Figure: big, shiny curves: full hips, slim waist, long arms and legs, big hands and feet, sensual face.
Fat: it is reflected in the soft areas of the body: chest, hips, waist, upper arms and legs, especially the face.
Star: monica bellucci

In jewelry and decoration, it is important not to restrict oneself, but to emphasize femininity. Always emphasized waist, bright textures, rich colors can make you a diva. But pale colors and oversized make you look fat and vulgar.
Pure dramatic (size 165 and up, no caps)
Figure: narrow sharp skeleton, chiseled sharp features, long arms and legs, big feet and palms
Fat: hips and upper legs become heavier than the upper body
Star: Tilda Swinton

These are monochrome, rigor, a narrow and clear silhouette, conciseness, accentuated shoulders, geometry. All attempts to add femininity to such a look only emphasize the large and sharp bone structure.
Why do you know your Kibby type?
Shopping made simple. You know exactly which thing should be decorated and which should be returned.
You get compliments on your beauty, not your outfit.
When something doesn’t fit, you stop looking for fault in yourself. You understand that you have a great figure, but not everything fits a certain type.
