Amy Slaton has showcased her 200-pound weight loss as she prepares to launch a new music career with an upcoming artificial intelligence-generated track titled Pounds Hollow. The 38-year-old television personality, best known for appearing on the TLC reality series 1000-Lb Sisters, took to her main Instagram page on Tuesday to share a video snippet of the clip while reflecting on her transformation journey.

The teaser clip opens with a comment from her brother Chris Combs, taken from an upcoming season of 1000-Lb Sisters, which premieres on September 1. In the snippet, Combs expresses skepticism about artificial intelligence, stating, "If you use AI to do anything, you didn't do it."

The video then cuts directly to Slaton looking into the camera as a portion of the upbeat country track plays in the background. She is featured standing outdoors near a scenic river wearing a skimpy bralette corset top, giving fans a clear view of her slimmer figure. Slaton holds her arms out while wearing a coverup overlayed with text that reads, "but i did tho...," directly responding to her brother's statement.

Toward the end of the teaser, the reality star walks toward the camera along a quiet rural road surrounded by lush green trees. She wears a patterned dress that stops just above her knees, paired with a black-studded jacket and black boots.

Teasing Pounds Hollow and the Creative Process
Pounds Hollow is scheduled for release on August 26 and will mark Slaton's debut into the music industry. Writing in her Instagram caption, she expressed deep personal pride in the project, telling fans that the single represents a major personal milestone.

"Y'all are getting a little sneak peek, but this is only part of the journey!" Slaton wrote. "From an idea in my head, to the music, filming, editing, and finally watching everything come to life - this one means a whole lot to me."
Slaton informed her followers that the creative process behind bringing the song to life will be shown on the new season of 1000-Lb Sisters. TLC is an American cable television channel known for non-fiction reality programming focusing on lifestyle and family dynamics.
"Y'all are gonna get to see the process, the work, the laughs, the nerves, and everything that went into making this dream a reality," Slaton told her audience. She described the experience as "something I'll never forget" while noting that she was "stepping outside my comfort zone." She concluded: "This isn't just about dropping a music video. It's about watching something that started as an idea grow into something REAL."
Solo Debut and Writing Through Hard Times
Slaton continued to promote her single on Wednesday, sharing a separate Instagram video clip where she gushed over her "first ever solo song." In the post, she opened up about the emotional origins of the track and acknowledged the friends who encouraged her to pursue music.
"When I wrote it, it was like, a hard time in my life and I just needed a song to go back to," Slaton explained in the clip.
On Thursday, Slaton shared another update ahead of the song's official release, detailing how the concept evolved from a written poem into a completed track.
"What started as an idea, then a poem, then lyrics turned into something I never imagined - my own song, in my own voice," Slaton stated. "This one comes straight from my heart, my country roots, and the places and memories that helped shape me." She added: "I'm so excited for y'all to finally hear the finished song and see everything we've been working on behind the scenes."
Bariatric Surgery and Weight Loss Milestones
Along with her career pivot into the music industry, the reality star has spent years focusing on her health. At one point, Slaton weighed over 400 pounds before undergoing bariatric surgery in 2019. Bariatric surgery refers to surgical procedures performed on the digestive tract to assist individuals with severe obesity in losing weight.

In 2023, People magazine reported that Slaton weighed around 230 pounds following her procedure. Her sister Tammy Slaton underwent the same surgery in 2022 and has since lost 500 pounds after previously weighing over 700 pounds.

In a past interview with People, the sisters recalled how childhood circumstances influenced their eating habits. "Mom was always at work, so we had to learn how to cook and stuff for ourselves," Slaton explained. "And at 10 and 11 you really couldn't prepare healthy food and stuff."
Tammy added: "The microwave was our best friend. Ramen noodles, bowls of soup, things that were quick and easy - stuff that adds on carbs."

Slaton also shared that both she and Tammy faced bullying at school when they were younger, leading her to cope through food. She explained that she "started eating my feelings."
Excess Skin Challenges and Personal Life
The health journeys of both sisters have been documented extensively on 1000-Lb Sisters. During a past episode that aired in February, Slaton spoke candidly about the physical challenges that followed her 200-pound weight loss.

"Lately I've been doing so good on my weight loss. And now that I'm skinnier, it's starting to bother me even more," Slaton admitted while taking a bungee class. She explained that excess skin caused severe discomfort during workouts: "These harnesses were not meant for people with excess skin, I'll tell you that. My fat roll would go in between the strap and my leg."
In July, a teaser for the upcoming season of 1000-Lb Sisters revealed that Slaton plans to undergo skin removal surgery to address the issue.

Off screen, Slaton is a mother to two young sons, five-year-old Gage and four-year-old Glenn, whom she shares with her ex-husband Michael Halterman. Last year, she married Brian Lovvorn during a wedding ceremony on Halloween.
