In a message accompanying the image, Studio Kleisthenis stated that nine years had passed without the beloved actress. The archive noted that it was continuing its annual tradition of releasing an unseen photograph to honor her memory for her numerous fans.
Laskari was one of the most prominent figures in Greek cinema and theater during the twentieth century. She rose to fame in the 1960s as a leading star of the golden age of Greek cinema, starring in landmark film productions and popular theatrical plays.
Memories from cinema peers
Tributes were also paid by Giannis Papamichail, the son of fellow Greek screen star Aliki Vougiouklaki. Papamichail published two photographs from 1982 showing his mother in the coastal town of Theologos alongside actress Smaroula Giouli and Laskari.
Papamichail wrote that nine years had passed since the death of the actress, whom he described as a close friend of his mother. He recalled that the group had spent wonderful times together in Theologos filled with music, food, and laughter.
He also reflected on his personal relationship with Laskari, revealing that he had never forgotten her support after his mother passed away. He added that he would always remember her with love and appreciated how kindly she had treated him during that difficult period.
Vougiouklaki and Giouli were both celebrated figures in Greek performing arts, with the seaside resort of Theologos serving as a frequent gathering place for prominent artists of the era. Laskari died suddenly on August 18, 2017, at the age of 73.
