Steve Carell and Angela Kinsey led a reunion of "The Office" cast on Thursday, September 10, 2026, to celebrate a Hollywood Walk of Fame star honoring the show's creator, Greg Daniels. Daniels received the 2,856th star on the famed walkway along Hollywood Boulevard in Los Angeles.
Carell, who played bumbling regional manager Michael Scott on the American version of the sitcom, spoke at the ceremony to praise Daniels's work bringing the show to life.
Carell said that everyone had told him not to do "The Office," warning him it would not work, that the original British series was too good, and that taking on the project would be a waste of time. He said people had told him the American remake was mostly going to be a failure. Then, he said, something crazy happened, and the show did not fail, because of Daniels.
Kinsey, who played accountant Angela Martin throughout the series, also attended the tribute alongside other cast members.
About 'The Office'
"The Office" is a mockumentary-style comedy that follows employees at the fictional Scranton, Pennsylvania branch of the paper company Dunder Mifflin. The American series aired from 2005 to 2013 and marked its 20th anniversary in 2025. It launched Carell to wider fame and became one of the most rewatched sitcoms of its era.
Hollywood Walk of Fame
The Hollywood Walk of Fame is a series of more than 2,800 stars embedded in the sidewalks of Hollywood Boulevard and Vine Street, each honoring a figure from film, television, music, radio or theater. Daniels's star adds to that long list, recognizing his role as the writer and producer who adapted the format for American television.
The Walk of Fame recently announced the full roster of artists who will receive stars on Hollywood Boulevard and Vine Street next year. That list includes Lisa Kudrow of "Friends," Pedro Pascal, Karol G, Delroy Lindo and Keke Palmer.
