Singer Violet Grohl has been forced to cancel two upcoming UK concert dates in Manchester and Glasgow after completely losing her voice.
The 20-year-old artist, who is the eldest daughter of Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl, announced the cancellations on social media on Tuesday, just hours before she was scheduled to take the stage.
Cancelled UK Concert Dates
Violet Grohl was scheduled to perform at Band On The Wall in Manchester on Tuesday evening, followed by a performance at King Tut's Wah Wah Hut in Glasgow on Wednesday. Band On The Wall is an established live music venue located in the Northern Quarter of Manchester, while King Tut's Wah Wah Hut in Scotland is renowned for showcasing emerging musical acts.

Posting a message to Instagram over an image of an old industrial building, the singer informed her followers that she would not be able to proceed with the scheduled performances. She wrote that she was really bummed to have to let everyone know she was cancelling the shows in Manchester and Glasgow, adding that she did not have a voice right now and that it pained her to make the decision, but she simply could not perform.
She reassured ticket holders that the concerts would be moved to later dates. She stated that they were rescheduling the shows and everyone who bought a ticket would receive the updated information, adding that she was looking forward to seeing fans soon and promised that she would be back.
Debut Album Be Sweet To Me
The cancelled UK performances were part of a live tour supporting her debut studio album, Be Sweet To Me, which was released in May. The record marked her formal launch as an independent recording artist in the music industry.

Despite his own extensive commercial success selling millions of records and winning numerous Grammy Awards, 57-year-old Dave Grohl revealed that he had no involvement in creating his daughter's debut record. Speaking in an interview with British rock radio station Radio X, the former Nirvana drummer explained that the decision to work independently came entirely from Violet.
Grohl told Radio X that she made the album with a producer named Justin Raisen, and that she did it on her own. He explained that she met the producer and they would go to the studio every day, sending him completed songs afterwards. He stated that he had absolutely nothing to do with the record at all.
The rock musician added that while he is the kind of father who wants to be present and know everything, his daughter was doing her own thing, calling her independence amazing.

Independent Career and Dad Dave Grohl
While establishing her solo music career, Violet Grohl acknowledged her father's influence during promotional interviews for Be Sweet To Me in May. Speaking to British Vogue, she reflected on how growing up around music shaped her artistic ambitions.
She told British Vogue that she would not have dived as deep into music without him, adding that she had dreamed of pursuing a career in music since she was 12 years old.
Her music career launch comes less than two years after her father became involved in a high-profile family scandal. Dave Grohl shares Violet and her younger sisters, Ophelia and Harper, with his second wife, Jordyn Blum.

Family Scandal and Marriage Revival
The Grohl family's public image and Dave Grohl's reputation were shaken in September 2024, when the musician publicly admitted to fathering a child outside of his marriage.
In 2025, Jennifer Young confirmed to Page Six that she is the mother of the child. Public records viewed by the outlet showed that the baby girl was born on August 1, 2024, with Grohl listed as her surname on the birth certificate. The child resides with her mother in Los Angeles, California, where Young is frequently seen taking her for walks in their local neighbourhood.
Grohl initially disclosed the news in a public statement posted to Instagram in September 2024. In the post, he wrote that he had recently become the father of a new baby daughter born outside of his marriage, and stated his intention to be a loving and supportive parent to her. He added that he loved his wife and children and was doing everything he could to regain their trust and earn their forgiveness, asking for consideration toward all children involved as they moved forward.
Following the public disclosure, Grohl and Blum were photographed in public without their wedding rings amid reports that the musician had consulted a divorce lawyer. However, sources told the Daily Mail that the couple have since worked hard to overhaul their marriage. According to insiders, the pair underwent months of counselling sessions and implemented strict rules allowing Blum to monitor her spouse in an effort to rebuild trust.
