“Harry & Meghan”: The villa of successful documentary series was not her real home

Viewers tuned in to see Harry and Megan, Netflix’s wildly successful documentary series about the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, was tricked into believing the couple lived high up in a lavish Santa Barbara mansion. Many of the scenes showed the duo running around with son Archie and hiding Easter eggs in a large backyard with a beautiful view.

Start Popping the Bubble: You don’t own the dapper men featured in the six-episode series. It’s actually a 12,804-square-foot home in Montecito, California that’s currently on sale for $33.5 million. It’s been out for over a year, so if you’re into this stuff (and have a lot of debt), it could still be yours.

According to Dirt, the property spans two acres and has six bedrooms and eight bathrooms between the main digs and the guest house. The two-story home features a chef, movie room with fireplace and wet bar, game room and exercise room. The impeccably landscaped plots also offer mountain and sea views.

However, the duke and duchess hardly live in misery these days. According to Dirt, they actually live on a similar property in Montecito, about 3.5 miles away. Their current digs are around 9,000 square feet, which they reportedly purchased over two years ago for a cool $14.6 million. It has nine bedrooms, 16 bathrooms, a swimming pool and a tennis court.

The pair have already announced their next Netflix project: a Nelson Mandela-inspired interview series focusing on the people whose “actions shape our world.” live to lead will feature interviews with Greta Thunberg, New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern and Ruth Bader Ginsburg. It falls on December 31.

Harry and Megan, which debuted on December 8th, now holds the title of the most watched hours in a Netflix documentary title in a premiere week. It also debuted at #2 on Netflix’s English-language TV chart and appeared in the top 10 in 85 countries.
