Among the first photos released are a solo shot of Ncuti Gatwa in a cozy orange sweater and patterned coat, and a duet shot with Ruby Sunday, his new girlfriend, played by Millie Gibson.

It’s still unclear when Ncuti Gatwa and Millie Gibson will actually take over and pilot the TARDIS. Until their official debut, fan favorite David Tennant, who portrayed the 10th Doctor, will return as the 14th Doctor for a special three-episode season in November 2023.
David Tennant will be joined by co-star Catherine Tate, who will reprise her role as co-star Donna Noble. “Heartstopper” actor Yasmin Finney and Neil Patrick Harris in an undisclosed role are also in the cast.

Ncuti’s path to the 15th Doctor is full of mystery, horror, robots, puppets, danger and delight”, said showrunner Russell T. Davies in October. “We’re giving you a year to speculate, and then all hell breaks loose.”

Ncuti Gatwa, best known for his role as Eric in the Netflix series Sex Education, was announced last May to be Jodie Whittaker’s successor.
