Thomas Drachkovitch is leaving Amazon Studios after seven years

Amazon Studios says goodbye to another UK executive.

Thomas Drachkovitch, head of development for the original series, is leaving after seven years working at Amazon’s locations in cities such as LA, Mumbai and London.

Deadline understands that Drachkovitch’s contract with Amazon has expired and has not been renewed, despite his stock being high at the studio. He will remain in London, but it is not yet known what his next step will be.

At Amazon Studios, he focused on the development of scripted and unscripted films in local languages. Most recently in India, he helped Amazon Studios launch their debut series, which earned the country’s first Emmy nominations.

It will be Amazon Studios’ latest departure in Europe, after Originals director Georgia Brown left in August and German country manager Kasper Pfluger left after six months in the job.

In November, Deadline announced that Amazon Studios had hired initial co-managing director Cat Lynch as unscripted UK executive.

Drachkovitch’s departure also follows major structural changes at Amazon Studios in the US and worldwide under Vernon Sanders, which Deadline announced last month. As a result, Laura Lancaster, Nick Pepper and Lauren Anderson take leadership roles in teams focused on SVoD, AVoD and FAST channels.
