Quantum Leap Renewed for Season 2 on NBC

NBC has renewed the popular freshman series quantum leapOn Monday, the network announced the reboot of the hit ’90s sci-fi drama for a second season.

The renewal comes midway through the first season of the show, which received good ratings. With Raymond Lee, the quantum leap Pilot currently has a 2.0 rating in the 18-49 demo and 10.8 million viewers across linear, digital and streaming platforms, according to Nielsen and the network. The reboot is NBC’s best-ever drama launch on Peacock and the #2 new show of the season in the 18-49 demo.

“We’re jumping into a second season thanks to the incredible work of our cast, producers, writers and everyone who helped bring this iconic NBC series back to life,” said Lisa Katz, President, Scripted Content, NBCUniversal Television and streaming said. “As we continue to attract viewers to our must-see dramas, it is heartening to know quantum leap will be featured prominently on both our NBC shows next season and next day’s Peacock.

According to the Season 1 logline, it has been “30 years since Dr. Sam Beckett boarded the Quantum Leap Accelerator and disappeared. A new team has now been assembled to restart the project in hopes of solving the mysteries behind the machine and the man to understand what it built.”

Martin Gero serves as executive producer along with Dean Georgaris, Don Bellisario, Deborah Pratt, Chris Grismer, Steven Lilien and Bryan Wynbrandt.
