Jimmy Fallon is not dead, contrary to a completely unconvincing Twitter hoax. But when he half-heartedly, if you will, reached out to Twitter CEO Elon Musk for help, he got a verbal shrug.
“Elon, can you fix this? #RIPJimmyFallon” which is very much alive Tonight Moderator tweeted yesterday. Musk responded this morning: “Fix what?”
For reasons unknown, the hashtag #RIPJimmyFallon began circulating yesterday, often accompanied by photos of Fallon or other late-night hosts (including Josh Radnor, Jim Morrison, Seth McFarlane and James Corden).
Absolutely heartbreaking to lose this man 😭 #RIPJimmyFallon pic.twitter.com/u0b05h2ido

While some on Twitter seem to be taking the brunt of the joke, others have seen more evidence that Musk’s blue-check verification process has led to something approaching chaos that could use some tweaking.
For which the CEO undoubtedly has a joke ready.
Fix what?
